2010/644 Senior Research Scientist - Surgical Simulation

CSIRO ICT centre is seeking to appoint a Research Scientist to join the Surgical Simulation and Planning Team located at the Australian e-Health Research Centre in Brisbane. The team performs cutting edge research and development of computer-based surgical training and pre-operative planning software. Our aim is to improve patient safety by reducing the need for on patient training and provide surgical teams with the tools required to improve surgical outcomes. The successful applicant will undertake research focused on the development and application of novel techniques for surgical simulation, visualization, and mechanical modelling of soft tissues. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high quality research environment, with strong clinical collaboration. The research scientist will join a large team (>40 scientists, postdoctoral fellows, and students) in an exciting working environment.
AUD$95K - $112K per annum plus up to 15.4% superannuation
